There isn't an easy way to say this, but this will be the last season for GridIronPicks.com.
When my brother Dave and I started GridIronPicks.com in 2001, we wanted to bring the same handicapping techniques used by some of the most successful sports gamblers in business to the general public. I, having worked for a few years during the early 90s in the tout business from sales to sports handicapping to marketing/advertising, had the desire to provide sports handicapping information without the high-pressure sales tactics and negative connotations associated with sports touts. Providing the same picks we bet, week-in and week-out, at a reasonable price.
We have had some incredible runs, from our 75+% winning percentages in college football in 2002 and 2003, to our excellent record on Monday Night Football.
However, over the last 3 years, two significant events happened to the handicapping business. The first, in 2006, was the passing of the internet gambling ban. The second is the economy in 2008 as the financial woes have cut in to discretionary spending.
I will no longer be taking individual weekly pick purchases and will likely discontinue free picks on the site. However, you will have the opportunity to purchase partial packages for the remaining seasons beginning tomorrow, October 22, 2008.
I have had inquiries about selling the site in the past. In the event of this happening, the privacy policy remains in effect. Prior to the close of any sale of the site, I will provide information to both premium pick subscribers and newsletter subscribers detailing information of the purchasing party and giving you the opportunity to remove your email address(es) from the subscriber databases.
It is also entirely possible that I relaunch this site in another manner somewhere down the road.

Houston is too good of a team to be sitting 0-4, but now doubt is creeping in and Miami can exploit it.

Another mental aspect to this game with the revelation that Kurt Warner debated retirement after Boldin's head shot. Marian Barber is due for a breakout game this week.
